In the hands of one of CY4OR’s skilled experts, deleted doesn’t mean un-recoverable. Hidden items become visible and the picture becomes clearer, if not clear.
In order to meet the specific needs of our clients, CY4OR utilise a wide variety of forensic tools. Our main computer analysis tools are EnCase and Forensic ToolKit (including FTK Imager, Password Recovery Toolkit and Registry Viewer).
These tools meet the analysis needs of a large proportion of the cases we deal with and allow for a dual-tool approach for the verification of findings.
Similar to computers, but with a greater diversity and arguably far more powerful in terms of capability, the evidential value of these items must not be overlooked.
Whether the crucial evidence is stored on the handset or SIM card, CY4OR has the experience and expertise to extract and present this evidence.
CY4OR’s expert investigations include the production of call lists and contact information, the recovery of deleted SMS messages, a summary of mobile internet usage, and the production of photographs and videos.
In our increasingly litigious environment, the ability to search and disclose electronically stored information (ESI) is common place. Audio is often not considered in litigation, disputes or forensic data searches and may contain valuable information.
As with the edisclosure process followed for more traditional forms of ESI, tools are now available to automate the process, review and analysis of audio recordings. CY4OR’s speech technology can accurately conduct complex searches for key words or phrases and reduce the time and resource needed to analyse audio recordings. Features include iterative search, file based tagging and dataset filtering.
The preservation of digital data is critical in many types of investigation. Imaging of computers and associated media should be considered in all cases where further investigation or disclosure may be required. Capturing this data using forensically sound methodology is vital if the integrity of any subsequent investigation is to be maintained.
CY4OR has extensive experience capturing and collecting data from all types of media. Situations develop quickly and can spiral out of control if not managed swiftly. The collection and preservation of data can be critical. Seconds count, and delays can have a severe impact on your reputation and profit.
At CY4OR we understand the time critical element of your case and our incident response team is available to respond to global situations 24 hours a day. So whether it’s the execution of a search order granted at the last minute, or the dispatch of a team to collect data from multiple locations, we can assemble a rapid reaction team and dispatch them anywhere in the world.
Evidence obtained from cell site analysis can be combined with other evidence such as CCTV, call data records or observations, to determine if the accused was in fact at the scene of the crime or to confirm an alibi. Alternatively it can track the path of a mobile phone as it moves from location to location.
Using data from mobile phone service providers, our surveyors can measure actual coverage utlilising sophisticated data gathering, positioning and analytical tools. The information gathered is used to generate detailed coverage maps where the coverage areas of individual cell sites are shown as different colours. Maps are available in various formats including aerial photography, A-Z street maps and OS ranges.
Electronic disclosure (often referred to as edisclosure or ediscovery) involves the production of documents stored in electronic format. The Practice Direction 31B for the Disclosure of Electronic Documents provides the framework for the proportionate disclosure of electronically stored information (ESI).
CY4OR offers a full service solution including the collection, processing, review and production of ESI. Our comprehensive edisclosure solution enables you to quickly review and organise information in our review suite or yours.
Audio Enhancement
Audio can be recorded on an increasingly diverse range of digital devices including mobile phones, dictaphones, covert recording devices, cameras and laptops. Such audio in its native format is often distorted and would be useless or lack impact. CY4OR offers a full dialogue enhancement and transcription service in our forensic audio and video suite, allowing us to provide you with the highest possible standard of audio.
Video Investigation
The proliferation of CCTV equipment on virtually every street corner, outside many businesses premises and even fitted to many domestic properties, has created an increase in the amount of audio and video evidence available for examination.
Evidence of this nature is heavily relied upon in court but often needs enhancing to ensure that it is clearly presented. CY4OR’s experienced video team uses state of the art equipment to enable the enhancement, demutiplexing and restoration of footage.
